Puffins and Seabirds Wildlife Photography Workshops on the Farne Islands

Gift Vouchers are available for this trip

Come and photograph one of Britain’s truly great wildlife events, the breeding birds colonies on the Farne Islands, arctic terns, common terns, sandwich terns, razorbills, guillemots, shags and of course the sea parrot or tommy noddy as the locals call, the Atlantic puffin. Most of the birds can be seen and photographed at very close quarters.

The workshop will show you the techniques to photograph the birds in their breeding habitat, in flight in addition to the technical requirements for successful wildlife photography, exposure compensations, control of shutter speeds and aperture settings to get the best out of your trip.

The boat trip out to Inner Farne will take us past the seal colony giving opportunities to get close up images of the grey seals.

The workshop fee includes the costs for your tour around the Farne Islands but does not include the National Trust landing fee for Inner Farne, your transport to the meeting place, car parking, insurance or photographic equipment/materials.

What is not covered is insurance, travel to and from Seahouses, food and camera equipment. I can supply a limited amount of equipment if required.

You will need to provide your own photographic equipment; a 300mm lens is a good size for flight shots and with a converter would cover most shots. A tripod can be useful although flight shots would normally be hand held.

Dates.

I will be  running the trips every Wednesday Thursday and Friday during May, June and to Mid July. But other days can be arranged
