A very wet Common Whitethroat – Sylvia commuis Scottish Borders

We have had a lot of rain recently which has an effect on most of our wildlife in one form or another. Our hedgerow birds are no exception to this. I was out looking for otters on the River Tweed and noticed this common whitethroat. It look a while to identify the bird but it is a very wet common whitethroat. It was creating a whole lot of noise at the time but then so would I if I was that wet.

Its the British Birdwatching Fair at Rutland Water in Leicestershire. If you are attending the show, please come along and say hello. Marquee 2 stand 27. It always nice to meet like minded people.

If you are attending on the Sunday I am delivering a lecture at 3:00pm in lecture marquee 2 on Scottish Wildlife.
