Roe Deer at Hume, Scottish Borders
I spotted a Roe Deer in a filed under the shadows of Hume castle in the Scottish Borders. After overnight snow the roe deer must have found it difficult to obtain food, as a result, this roe deer doe was feeding well into the day giving me an opportunity to get some pictures. I also manage to get a reasonable picture of a buzzard which is also attached
Just when I managed to get quite close to the deer, a tractor came along a track at the rear of the field causing the deer to take flight. These are some of the pictures………

About Ron McCombe
I live in the Scottish Borders near Coldstream and like to photograph the local wildlife. Northumberland and South East Scotland have an abundance of natural history with sites such as Bass Rock, The Farne Islands, Holy Island and the Lammermuir Hills.
I have also traveled extensively throughout Europe, visiting Norway Sweden, Finland, Poland and Spain. I have also traveled the USA and Canada.
But I have to say I prefer Scotland, the lowlands, the highland and islands, Scotland has an abundance of wildlife to be photographed and enjoyed. I like to visit the Isle of Mull when I can, the wildlife and the scenery is stunning, some great species here to photograph, white tailed eagles, otters and red deer to name but a few.
You should come along and take a look
Ron
