Ardnamurchan the rest of the best
Here are some of the pictures I took on the Ardnamurchan trip. The weather was to say the least, abysmal. I traveled up on the Sunday, it poured with rain all day long. so the late afternoon was a complete washout photographically speaking. The light was poor and anything with an once of common sense took cover from the rain except me. I was staying at Resipole which is between Strontian and Salen. The locals have been seeing otters there for the last few weeks just after first light. Monday dawned I was on the beach at Resipole Bay at fist light, The light was very poor but I didn’t...

I have been on Ardnamurchan for a few days. I visited one of my favorite spots on the peninsular, Camas Nan Geall. There is a small parking area overlooking a beautiful beach down below. This is one of the areas on Ardnamurchan to see white-tailed and golden eagles. I sat and watched for a while and eventually a pair of white-tailed eagles put in an appearance. They came through the mists left by the last rain shower. They were juveniles, one with those horrible coloured tags on and one without. The stayed their distance but I managed some pictures as they played around the skies. I do wish...

I took a trip down the Northumberland Coat to an area I hadn’t visited for some time. Druridge Pools are on Druridge Bay, its a small reserve which sometimes comes up with a few good birds. There wasn’t much around when I got there, then a grey heron came in quite close to the hide. These birds can be quite difficult to get close to so I was happy to get some picture of the heron in good light at close quarters. I have been looking at commoner species of birds just lately, and have been getting good images of them, so I was very pleased to get so close to the heron. These birds...

I was out today looking for some of the commoner species of birds that live around my area. I found a nice hawthorn tree which had a good head of berries on it and also had a sprinkle of sun shining on it. I never tire of seeing these common species they have bag of character and are very colorful to boot. The birds just came and went. I sat for about two hours and got these pictures of the birds. I hope you like them
