I was on my way home fro St Abb’s and I saw this barn owl flying in fading light. I stopped the car and watched for a while. The owl landed on the post quite close and maneged to get close before it flew away.

I went up to St Abb’s again this afternoon to see if I could get a picture of a red backed shrike which was reported there. I waited for a couple of hours then the thunder and lightening started along with the rain so I abandoned the shrike. I sat in the car until the rain stopped and made my way down the narrow road towards Coldingham and I spotted five roe dear (1 stag, 3 does and a fawn).So i stopped for a while and took some images. I was at Aberlady Bay today for the lesser yellowlegs, I arrived on site at 5:00am just after high tide, thinking it would be a good time t see the bird, but it wasn’t in view at all. It finally showed itself at around 7:30am but was to far away to get a decent picture. It was in view for most of the day but always too far away to get a good picture. I stayed until the tide came back in again hoping to see it at close quarters at high tide. But again it stayed at a distance. These are the best pictures of a very poor bunch, but then as record shots they are ok.
